The M1903 Springfield is a bolt-action rifle chambered for .30-06 rounds. It was the standard issue service rifle in the United States Armed Forces throughout World War I. It saw service in World War 2, mostly as a sniper rifle. The sniper varient was designate M1903A4 and mounted a scope. It is fed by a 5 round stripper clip. However, in the M1903A4, the scope obstucted the loading area, so the operator was forced to manualy load each bullet individually. It was replaced by the semi-automatic M1 Garand.
Usage in CoD GamesEdit
The Springfield M1903 appears in all CoD games regarding World War II, most notably Call of Duty:World at War. The weapon appears in the campaign and multiplayer content of the stated Call of Duty games.
